Helena Rhabbles Resurfaces

Good old female gospel great, Helena Rhabbles did not look old when she resurfaced after a long hiatus from the Ghanaian music scene.

The artiste, who is one of the pioneers of Ghanaian gospel music, graced the TV Show, ‘Music Music’ on TV3 over the weekend. Looking young and gorgeous, she delivered a repertoire of some her hit songs to the admiration of attendants and viewers. It was a refreshing spectacle as people sang and danced along every song the artiste performed on the night.

According to her, she has been in the United States all these years and she’s still doing shows across States. She also disclosed that her ever-popular hit song, ‘Ye wo Oman’ is 20 years old and continues to derive so much nostalgic feelings and anointing amongst lovers of music. She also disclosed that, she is working on a new single that is near completion and will be released soon.

Officially named Helena Esi Mends, she trained as a teacher and after (9) nine years of tutoring; she felt the call of God to pursue her music career fully. She came out in 1994 with her maiden album titled, ‘Helena Rhabbles Volume 1’ and based on its overwhelming success, ‘Volume 2’ was released in 1995 and featured boisterous hits like “So So Wonders” and “Kokromotsi”.

Helena Rhabbles’ ability to sing in various languages made her stand out and made her a towering figure in gospel music, charting the course for many others including the likes of Getty & Friends, Suzzy & Matt, Naana Frimpong, Hannah Marfo and many others.
