The responsibility of a record label is to make moves, positive maneuvers for its artist(s) and just hours after officially announcing the signing of Shatta Wale to the Zylofon Music Label, www.entertainmentgh.com is getting reliable information that such moves have begun in earnest.
This portal www.entertainmentgh.com has got word that Shatta Wale, who has been blacklisted from the biggest music awards in Ghana, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) for the past years, is most likely to feature in the scheme this year.
Among the many other stuff planned for the 2013 ‘VGMA Artist of the Year’, the impresarios at Zylofon are also said to be keen on getting their prized asset feature prominently in the scheme and have already started engineering the right processes to ensure that Shatta Wale’s name appears on the nomination list for the 19th edition of the highly anticipated awards.
The official date for the closure for filing for nominations was January 31, 2017 and there’s word that the management of the ‘Freedom’ hit maker did pick forms for possible nominations in the awards this year.
In 2017, Shatta Wale was prominent, just like he was in all the years he stayed off the awards, by releasing banging tunes that included, ‘Taking Over’, ‘Ayoo’, ‘Forgetti’ and ‘Freedom’ among others.
A Shatta Wale inclusion in the 2018 edition of the Awards would inject such competition for the likes of Ebony, Sarkodie as well as label mates, Becca and Stonebwoy – who have all been mentioned as potential 2018 VGMA ‘Artist of the Year’.
Shatta Wale won the topmost award, ‘Artist of the Year’ for 2014 but has been barred from the scheme since then, for showing gross disrespect to the scheme and its Board.
