It is not enshrined in any manual on who owns the night of December 24 when it comes to shows but for decades, one man has popularized the eve of Christmas – the Maestro, Kojo Antwi, with the live show, ‘24th Night With Kojo Antwi’.
24th Night has always belonged to the legendary performer but come this Friday, another ‘24th Night’ beckons and another legend hopes to somehow own the night too.
Samini comes up with his first ever ‘Samini Xperience’ concert to lock horns with the well-known ‘24th Night with Kojo Antwi’ among other events.
Who would own the night?
‘24th Night with Kojo Antwi’
This year marks a staggering 30 years since the legendary musician mounted the stage to give the world a memorable and long-lasting experience.
Kojo Antwi has over the years curated a highly respected public platform that has featured musical giants including Salif Keita (Mali), Steel Pulse (Jamaica & UK), Paa Bobo & Nana Kwame Ampadu (Ghana), Richard Bona (Cameroon), Freddie Meiway (Ivory Coast), Flavour (Nigeria), Pat Thomas (Ghana), Sonti (South Afrika), Aicha Kone (Ivory Coast), Steve Coleman (U.S.A), Reggie Rockstone (Ghana), Kamaldine (Guinea), King Mensah (Togo), Monique Seka (Ivory Coast) and more.
This year, under the aegis of Freedom Family Entertainment and Loggy Entertainment, Kojo tags this year’s concert, ‘The Lovers Celebration’ at the ‘De Icon’ Event Center.
Among other artistes on the bill, Kojo has enlisted quite a strong line-up of artistes to make the show enthralling;
- Kwame Yeboah
For the past few years, Kojo has ditched the 1,500 capacity National Theater and has been tinkering with relatively low capacity venues and this year, he settled with the newly-opened event center, De Icon.
With his teeming following, it is expected that the Maestro fills the venue with ease.
This year, Samini ditched his usual musical gathering, ‘SaminiFest’ and with the aid of Image Bureau, decided to invade Kojo Antwi’s turf.
Also in commemoration of his 40th birthday, the legendary, multi-talented musician has decided to offer music followers an epic music concert he calls, ‘Samini Xperience’ at the Grand Arena, AICC.
Touted as one of the best live performers of all time, Samini is expected to live up to the billing as always.
Samini calls on 2 of the biggest acts in the country at the moment; Kuami Eugene and KiDi to help with the experience on the eve of Christmas.
Image Bureau and Samini are daring – picking the 2,500 capacity Grand Arena as venue for such a first outing but should there be room for trepidation?
With an illustrious career spanning 2 decades, Samini should be able to sell out the venue.
Who Owns 24th Night?
The answer would be known Christmas Day!
