Desmond Blackmore, with the showbiz moniker, D-Black has chalked some successes as a business mogul in the music industry but it is a wonderment if anything he says ought be held as true. www.entertainmentgh.com is not convinced.
In a chat with Naa Ashorkor on Asaase Radio 99.5FM, the rapper had something to say about who he believes should run two of the leading outlets of the music industry – the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and the Ghana Music Right Owners Organization (GHAMRO).
In his thinking, D-Black has the strongest conviction that events hub, Charterhouse, are the best fit to run the two units.
“I wish an organization like Charterhouse can steer the affairs of MUSIGA and GHAMRO,” he said.
Of course, he had reasons to back his suggestion.
“They (Charterhouse) have shown the most professionalism over the years in the music industry. They have been able to run the Ghana Music Awards for 20+ years and majority of events they’ve produced in other countries have been successful.”
He had more!
“If we cannot find a body that can boast of such feat, why not them?”
He had a take on how the current situation at the two units doesn’t work for him.
“We should not depend on individuals to run for President of the Union/Association when they do not have the knowledge of how to run a business.”
