Another edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) is here, and this year, all the controversies are likely to hinge on one subject – the Shatta Wale- Stonebwoy ban and its implications on the scheme – www.entertainmentgh.com is not guessing!
After speculations were rife after the VGMA21 Launch, on why songs that featured Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were not nominated, the PRO for Charterhouse has come out to confirm the conjectures.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on ‘Daybreak Hitz’ on Hitz 103.9FM, Robert Klah stated that songs that featured the two artistes were not considered because they (the two acts) were not eligible for the awards this year.
“Those songs cannot be considered because the artistes are ineligible,” he said.
We went on to defend the decision by stating that, the featured acts did put some weight in the making and projection of such collaborations and especially when plaques are also handed over to the multiple acts on the winning song, such songs were ruled out by the Board.
Wendy Shay’s hit song ‘Stevie Wonder’ that featured Shatta Wale has been mentioned by critics as one of the songs that deserved a nod in the nominations this year.
