Artistes have emotions and some express such feelings when they feel they are treated unfairly, cheated or given some sort of raw deal. From Kanye West to 50 Cent, artistes have had to make statements during award shows and at the 21st edition of the VGMA, Ghanaian Afrobeat singer, Kelvyn Brown, popularly known as Kelvynboy made a statement too, by walking out of the auditorium – www.entertainmentgh.com notes.
The reports claimed that he walked out of the award show when he lost out on the ‘Afrobeat Song of the Year’ to Dope Nation but that was not certainly the case.
Speaking in an interview with KMJ on Joy Prime’s ‘Showbiz Now’ Kelvynboy stated that the situation was purely coincidental.
He explained that he planned to go somewhere else at that point in time—so he would have left the venue even if he had won. Kelvyn stressed that moving out had nothing to do with his inability to win that category.
The fast-rising musician also talked about the need for him to appreciate himself—and not wait for someone to do so.
