With just days to the highly anticipated Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Shatta Wale, one of the contenders for almost every category in the awards, has received some boost, by winning 2 awards at the International Reggae And World Music Awards (IRAWMA) 2019 held in Jamaica over the weekend.
He won the ‘Best Afrobeat Entertainer’ category, beating contenders like, Akothee from ( Kenya ), Davido ( Nigeria ) Diamond Platinumz ( Tanzania ) , Flavor ( Nigeria ) and Stonebwoy ( Ghana ). He also won the ‘Best Music video’ with his high grossing ‘Gringo’ single, beating the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Morgan Heritage, Sean Paul, Samini and others like, Damian Marley etc.
The awards ceremony was held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Pegasus Hotel, 82 Knutsford Blvd, Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies.
An obviously elated Shatta Wale took to his social media platform to express appreciation. He wrote :

Shatta Wale is vying for the much-talked-about ‘Artiste of the Decade’ prize, plus 9 other nominations, including the coveted ‘Artiste of the Year’ honour at the 20th edition of the VGMA, which comes off this Saturday at the Accra Int. Conference Center.
