The late afternoon ‘drive time’ show has always been a competitive slot on Ghanaian radio and station owners are always in some frenzy to ensure that the right personalities are sought to commandeer that niche – www,entertainmnentgh.com has been following the trend for years.
The male-female combination for radio shows is not new but Bola Ray and Anita Erskine (BolaNita) made that unit look appealing on the late afternoon ‘drive show’, ‘Starr Drive’ on Starr 103.5FM – an impressive partnership that lasted for 3 years – after which the baton was handed over to the current duo, Giovani Caleb and Berla Mundi, who are said to be doing extremely well on the slot.
Observers have been quick to point out how Joy 99.7FM have tried for sometime, to get a female presenter to pair longtime host, Lexis Bill, on the ‘drive time’ show, ‘Drive Time On Joy’ and www.entertainmentgh.com is privy to the fact that, popular TV/Radio presenter, Caroline Sampson, now with YFM – was almost contracted for the role until negotiations broke down in the last minute.
The acquisition of another popular figure, Joselyn Dumas, to strike a partnership with Lexis Bill has re-instigated the talk that Joy FM eyed the then ‘BolaNita’ click as some form of competition and now the ‘BerlaGio’ blend – and they seem to have put in the place a mechanism to check that; the ‘LexiJo’ or ‘DumaLex’ effect!
This is how www.myjoyonline.com reported the addition of Joselyn Dumas to the Joy FM brand;
Award-winning television personality and actress, Joselyn Dumas has joined the biggest media family in Ghana, The Multimedia Group.
A darling of many, the pretty actress is joining Naa Ashorkor and Sammy Forson, who also not long ago made the biggest move to join the respected media empire.Joselyn will co-host Ghana’s award-winning late afternoon show, Drive Time on Joy FM with Lexis Bill.
Apart from that show, she will also host ‘The Show with Joselyn’ on the first and third Friday of every month from 7 pm to 8 pm on Joy FM.
