Event organization has never been easy and the ability to generate sponsorship for such ventures has been challenging in the last couple of years – and that frustration might have got to gospel musician, Celestine Donkor – www.entertainmentgh.com can state.
This portal monitored as the singer launched some blistering attack on Financial Company, IDEAL FINANCE over some sponsorship agreements on Rainbow Radio over the weekend, in her build-up to promote her annual ‘Celestial Praise’ music concert.
“They are disorganized and incompetent,” Celestine Donkor yelped to host, Agyemang Prempeh – as she chided the firm for reneging on its promise to support her show as title sponsors.
The agitated songstress was extremely mad at the firm for its decision to pull the plugs at the last minute when it had promised to fully take charge as title sponsors for the concert.
“You do not promise to sponsor the event and then pull out in the last minute. That is disrespectful to my brand. You cannot do this to Shatta Wale,” she fumed.
Her angst also stemmed from the fact that, all the billboards, radio advertisement and television commercials had IDEAL FINANCE as title sponsors.
“I will ensure that they pay for all the benefits they have already derived from the partnership,” she warned.
Celestine also stated that, the company agreed to pay just 20% of the proposed sponsorship amount and that to her, was an affront to her brand.
The Director of Corporate Communication & Strategy of the Company, Ekow Blankson, who is also an industry stalwart, rebuffed the claims by the singer.
According to Mr. Blankson, the Company did not commit to supporting the event as title sponsors. There was no letter of approval by the Company to the team of Celestine.
He also stated that, the Company was not pleased when it saw billboards depicting it as the title sponsors of the event.
“He’s lying!” was the exclamation from Celestine in the studio.
