Rapper, Sarkodie has had a very successful music career and a fledgling record label that houses the likes of fellow rapper, Strongman and crooner, Akwaboah, whose respective careers have been under scrutiny since signing for the label – www.entertainmentgh.com is privy to such talk.
As an investor who is providing some level of support for these acts via his label, Sarkcess Music, it is expected that, he would be looking out to recoup on his investment, but the most decorated Ghanaian musician of all time, is not in a haste.
Speaking to Antoine Mensah on Live 91.9FM, and closely monitored by www.entertainmentgh.com, Sarkodie explained that, he is not expectant of any returns from his signed acts yet, because he believes that, it takes some time for such investment to blossom.
“As an artist myself, I do understand how the business works. I am not expecting any returns now,” he stated.
He went on to explain, the respective brands of Strongman and Akwaboah take time to win the hearts of music lovers. He talked about how such brands need to build a cult following for a period in order to gain grounds in the business and his two artists have such following and still building.
Akwaboah released ‘Matters of the Heart’ album to such rave reviews while Strongman also released the ‘STN’ album to such loud applause from music aficionados.
The two are expected to make appearance at the highly anticipated 2018 edition of the ‘Rapperholic’ concert, slated for 25th Dec at the Accra International Conference Center.
