Chris Koney has a new job – Group Head for Corporate Affairs at Media General, owners of TV3, 3FM, Onua FM, Onua TV and other affiliates across the country.
For close to a decade, Mr. Koney had garnered such experience in the international communication landscape and has an impressive expertise in Marketing Communications, Brand and Stakeholder Relationship Management.
Prior to his appointment, he served as the Head of Communications for the Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) Africa. He previously worked as a Senior Media Officer at Charterhouse Productions before joining pan-African cable television company, MultiChoice Ghana (DStv and GOtv) as Public Relations and Publicity Executive.
Mr. Koney holds a Master of Arts degree (Public Relations) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Philosophy & History) from the University of Ghana. He was selected by the Netherlands and U.S. Governments for the 2019 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in The Hague, during which he participated in a 1- week ‘Press Visitors Programme’ for selected media and communications professionals around the world.
Following his successful execution of “The Talk – Toronto Edition”, an event platform which discussed pillars vital for national development, Chris was in November 2019 extolled by the City of Toronto for his exploits and excellence in his field of endeavor, leadership and devotion to others, contributions considered important to strengthen the community.
Also in 2019, he was very instrumental in multiple award winning Ghanaian Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale’s inclusion in American musician, Beyonce’s album, ‘The Lion King’.
Mr. Koney is expected to bring his expertise and experience to bear in driving the vision of Media General to become the continent’s leading and most respected Media Company that delivers end-to-end superior value for all stakeholders.
