Beta Malt Wraps Up 2019 National ‘Interco’ In Bolga: Central Region Tops All

The Central Region won the overall prize at the 2019 ‘Malt Interco’: The National Inter-Schools and Colleges Athletics Competition held at the Bolgatanga Senior High School in Bolgatanga from September 19-21, 2019.

At the end of the 3-day sports festival, scholarships were offered to Grace Obour and Foster Ametsi for their exemplary performances as the ‘Best Male Athlete’ and ‘Best Female Athlete’ respectively.

The two went home with a sum of GHc15, 000 each that was presented by Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), producers of Beta Malt – a nourishing true malt beverage.

This year, ABL partnered the Ghana Education Service (GES) to organise the “Beta Malt Interco”. As sponsors of the popular Inter-Schools and Colleges Athletics Competition (Interco), Beta Malt has refreshed hundreds of athletes over the last six months from the preliminary stages all the way through the regionals of the contest. Notably, top performing athletes have also been rewarded with packs of Beta Malt drinks and branded souvenirs.

Head of Marketing, Ms. Ewurafua Addo-Atuah, commenting on the accomplishment of the partnership, affirmed that;

Physical education and sports remained important disciplines that provided holistic intervention to developing the mental and physical aspects of the body of young people and what better way to inspire athletes to go all the way up with Beta Malt.”

The Brands Manager for Beta Malt, Portia Offei Asare, closed the festival with a note, thanking the GES and the athletes for such showing and reiterating her brand’s continuous support for the Games.

“It has been a long physical and emotional journey for all the athletes who have jumped and sprinted to get here today. To those who could not achieve victory on this occasion, you should not be disappointed but analyse your performance and set out on a further mission. You need to remember that the winner is not twice as much better than a runner up.
