Five (5) top Tertiary Institutions in Ghana; University of Ghana, Ashesi University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Catholic University College of Ghana, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration – are set for one of the most innovative and interesting competitions ever held.
The 5 Institutions are billed to compete in the grand finale of the 3rd edition of British Council’s ‘Duapa Challenge; The Campus Duel’, also tagged – ‘Meet the Dragons’
The finale is scheduled for Tuesday, 20 February, 2018, 5pm at the British Council, Accra.
The 3rd edition of the Duapa Challenge is focused on student ventures, exploring innovative social enterprise ideas that can be supported to viable businesses.
The 5 Universities, which were shortlisted for the finale from a pool of other tertiary institutions in Ghana, will deliver a pitch in front of a live audience and a panel of expert judges and the winning team will be offered seed funding of GHS 10,000.
The Duapa Challenge, as part of the British Council’s contributions to the social enterprise ecosystem, is a social innovation competition which seeks to promote economic growth, private sector development and youth employment through enterprise. Over the past two years, the competition achieved its aim in identifying and supporting brilliant social enterprises like Trotro Tractor, Zaacoal and CowTribe which are currently in operation.
