There cannot be any edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards without incidents and the 18th edition of the Awards held over the weekend had its share.
Some of the incidents, which www.entertainmentgh.com call ‘silly’ were engineered by personalities who played some part in the awards scheme.
Check out the ‘silly’ moments;
He won 2 awards, but for some strange reason(s), he failed to show up to receive any of the awards. So, what did he go to do at the awards? Perform and go home? Unless he had a ‘running stomach’, he has no excuse not to have showed up!
9. Kwasi Ernest
This gentleman was the strongest advocate for the gospel fraternity to boycott the awards due to some bribery commentary passed by George Quaye, yet, he was sprinting more than Usain Bolt and was jumping on stage like a Telly Tubby when Joe Mettle won the ‘Overall Artiste of the Year’.
8. Gloria Sarfo
‘This is my first time presenting an award and I am privileged.” – so what? Who cares if it’s your 28th time; just present the damn award and the get the heck off that stage.
7. Nana Ama McBrown
Well, we still do not know what this beautiful actress took before presenting the award to Kofi Kinaata. She just won’t let the nominees tape finish playing. Madam why? Why the rush? To go home to your hubby? Ah, but he is there 24/7!
6. Kwaw Kese
We know you have been struggling to make hit songs and the headlines too, but to bring your awards in a wheel barrow, all for sale and carry them in your car back home is the dumbest move.
5. Kwame Fakye
Wait oo, did Kwame Farkye win any award? Did we miss something? So, how come he gave an acceptance speech for one of Adina’s awards when he didn’t sing the song, he didn’t write it and did not produce it? What kind of silly move was that?
4. Ras Kuuku
Charlie, it is painful when your expectations are high and you fail to win; we understand but to walk out throwing tantrums is some way. That stunt was done by Shatta Wale in 2013. It is an old stunt. Next time, Ras, get ‘high’ like you always do, walk on stage, grab the award and run with it or something.
This man won ‘Gospel Song of the Year’ and walked on stage with Ernest Opoku who featured on the hit song. He thanked everybody and left out Ernest. Instead, he was busy sending shout out to Joe Mettle. How?
2. Paa Kwasi (Dobble)
You win an award as a group, yet, you walk on stage and accept it as though, you did the song on your own. My brother, you wouldn’t have gone noticed if not for the name Dobble, so, ‘shine your eye’.
This guy flew all the way from Nigeria to pick an award and had no inkling who was giving him the award. Hear him; “Thank you to the Ghana Committee of the African Industry.” Omo Naija!
NOTE: Brethren, you take this seriously at your own peril. Ebi joke oo!!
