ANOTHER IN THE BAG! Charterhouse’s Night of 1022 Laughs & Music Wins ‘Comedy Show of the Year’

Comedy they say is food for the soul, and it is only pertinent that we find a way to reward the people who entertain us daily.

Comic Awards Ghana is an award scheme setup by DOXA Productions to honor and celebrate Ghanaian comedians that are doing exceedingly well in the comedy industry.

The maiden edition of what could probably be a yearly awards scheme happened on Friday, 1st September at the National Theatre which saw a lot of comic actors, standup comedians and various comedy shows in Ghana being recognized and awarded accordingly.

One of such outstanding comedy shows in Ghana that can definitely not be overlooked is the Night of 1000 Laughs and Music Series, a Charterhouse initiative which has its main focus on comedy.

The biennial event which has brought on stage some of the biggest names in comedy from Ghana and beyond, has over the years served its patrons the very best in entertainment and lived up to its billing as the safest, fun, most rewarding and biggest family night out in GH.

The Night of 1022 Laughs and Music which as staged at the Accra International Conference Centre in August 2016 was awarded the ’Comedy Show of the Year’ on the night, beating other shows like DKB’s Point of View, Lekzi De Comic’s Laughline and a host of other notable comedy shows.

Other big wins on the night were, Roverman productions winning best stage play for his ’Bananas and Groundnuts’, best comic movie going to Kofas Media’s “Amakye and Dede, Standup Comedian and Comedian of the Year going to DKB and what as perhaps the biggest honour of the night, the Lifetime Achievement Award going to the legendary Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) amongst others.

The event which was hosted by Ghanaian comedians, Khemikal and Jacinta saw a night of a great jokes, performances, and music from the talented Irene Logan, Kurl Songz and more.

The next edition of the night of 1000 laughs series, dubbed, “The Night of 1024 Laughs” comes off on 26th December 2017 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
