Arguably the most-sought-after and much-talked-about Ghanaian artiste now, Shatta Wale, has issued some stern warning to the organizers of the Ghana Music Awards on the upcoming Music awards.
The dancehall artiste stated in a radio interview on Peace Fm’s ‘Entertainment Review’ that, he will act like Osama Bin Laden if he is nominated, sent an invite to attend the show not win any award.
“I will not take it lightly and can’t predict my actions if I don’t get any award, especially when I have been nominated and invited to attend the event. If you know you are not going give me any award, I don’t see why you should invite me,” he blurted.
Shatta Wale also revealed that he has not sent in any nominations in the coming awards, an assertion his manager, Bulldog quickly rebutted by stating that he has nominated his (the artiste’s) songs for the awards. “If you have sent in my songs for nominations, then you should be prepared to go for the awards,” he told his manager.
The artiste and his manager also explained his actions during last year’s awards when the artiste destroyed some properties at the Accra International Conference Center in a rage after he deservedly lost out the ‘Dancehall Song of the Year’ to Kaakie. He said that he expected to win the award once he was sent an invitation to attend the event. His unprofessional behavior after the announcement of the winner stemmed from his disappointment of losing out, according to him.
Asked about his participation in this year’s main awards ceremony, the artiste responded that he will take part if he has no event on his schedule as and when the awards take place.
