STATEMENT: CAF Clarifies Mispropotion Of Performances At 2017 Award Ceremony

The Dancehall champion Shatta Wale, after not having to perform at the just-ended AITEO CAF Awards 2017 has been a major talking point after the ceremony. www.entertainmentgh.com reports!

The event which was graced by some of the biggest legends in African football, also saw top Ghanaian and international personalities as former President of Ghana, His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo as well as Madam Clar Weah, the in-coming First Lady of Liberia in attendance.

7 Nigerian act, one Togolese, one Congolese, and two Ghanaian musicians mounted the stage that night. Born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, Shatta Wale was widely anticipated to perform, but was surprisingly absent.

A statement released by CAF on Friday January 5, announces that an investigation will be conducted to ascertain why the “Taking Over” man was unable to perform, as well as the general imbalance of musical performances at the event.
