Two years after a ghastly accident cost him the use of his legs, veteran Nollywood actor Victor Olaotan is seeking financial aid to seek medical treatment abroad.
Back in 2016, the actor best known for his recurrent role in Tinsel was involved in a car crash on Lagos/Ibadan Expressway and was placed in a medically induced coma as he was treated for months. He has been facing the possibility of his two legs being amputated to save his life and his family has been treating him as best as they could in the last two years – www.thenet.ng gives a chilling report!
Right now he needs $50,000 to seek treatment abroad and a GoFundMe page has been set up for him.
Before the accident, Olaotan had played the role of Fred Ade Williams. He also featured in movies like Lovestruck as well as Three Wise Men, alongside Richard Mofe-Damijo and Zack Orji. His GoFundMe page is here.
A reliable source close to the family confirmed to us that his health status is being closely guarded and is the reason that no explanation has been given for his extended stay away from the public.
‘Only family members, few friends and colleagues are aware of this development,’ the source further said.
The accident was so severe that the 65-year-old Olaotan had to be placed on immediate medically induced coma.
Although his family gave a nonspecific statement that he was recuperating and ‘in stable condition’, the truth is his legs may have to be cut off to allow him any chance of recovery.
Incidentally, only yesterday, the 2,000th episode of Tinsel was aired. Victor Olaotan’s character Fred Ade Williams was killed off in 2014.
