Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall icon, Charles Nii Armah Mensah (Shatta Wale), made a grandstanding appearance in the city of Worcester, Massachusetts in USA – www.entertainmentgh.com can state.
After an initial setback of not appearing in New York due to work permit related issues, the acclaimed ‘Dancehall King’ made amends with a show off in Worcester where he was given a star treatment with private jet, luxurious cars and others, which was climaxed with a presentation of a key to the city.
The ‘Taking Over’ hitmaker received the honour after a historic gig at the Hanover Theatre, which was filled to capacity.
The artist earned the honour for his “relentless contribution to the arts industry”, as well as leaving an indelible mark on the city with his concert.
The Key to the City is usually presented to well-respected visitors/ individuals who have made remarkable contribution toward the improvement of Worcester.
Shatta Wale is the second Ghanaian celebrity to receive the Key from the same, following actor, Abraham Attah’s honour in 2016, where he was also handed the key by then Mayor, Joseph M Petty
