It is always refreshing when you have a relatively new act pop unto the scene but what is most enthralling is when that artiste come with a somewhat new vibe and Joseph Matthew has all that.
A United Kingdom-based Ghanaian gospel musician, Joseph Matthew also known as JM, presents his third single as he professes profoundly the special grace of God.
‘My Story’, produced expertly by the award-winning instrumentalist Francis Osei – is an admixture of afrobeat, hip hop and quintessential highlife.
His delivery on the song is quite riveting and the sound message of God’s grace elevates the song to where it’s supposed to be – in our mind, hearts and on our gadgets.
JM and his handlers acted smartly by inculcating some lines of the local language, Twi, in a song that was predominantly done in English, an ingenious way of touching several markets, both in Ghana, rest of Africa and the world in general.
Under the imprint, Joseph Matthew Ministries, JM complements ‘My Story’ with such a quality video.
Directed by Martin Sean, another award-winning music video director based in the United Kingdom, the video depicts an interesting montage and showcases the true African culture with the styling and dance.
He released his debut single track ‘Hallelujah’ in January 2019,’Nyame Ye’ another smashing hit song in April 2019 and now out with ‘My Story’.
Born into a Christian music family in Tema, Joseph quickly learnt to play various musical instruments from a tender age and sang in the church choir which was led and directed by his father.

As a result, he has performed and worked alongside many artists from different genres including hip-hop, RnB, Afro beats, reggae and gospel due to the versatility of his style.
JM caught the attention and was featured in a local magazine in 2007 after a captivating performance at Stratford Rex London. In 2009, JM felt a profound call on his life back into gospel music and the church and has since been a key member of his church choir.
All these will feature on his long-awaited gospel album (Solid Rock) which he intends to release in 2021
