Veteran musician Akosua Agyapong has referred to herself as a “Garbage Woman” as she vows to bend over backwards to see her project of ridding the streets on Ghana, especially Accra of filth.
The “Kokooko” hit maker, in an interview with Empress Neeta of Showbiz Agenda’s News Review segment on Zylofon 102.1FM, spoke about some of the progress she has achieved with her scheme.
The project, which was commenced at the Mallam market and has received massive backing from Ghana’s strongest sanitation company, Zoom Lion.
The seasoned musicians fumed over the rampant growth in filth within the country and encouraged masses to cultivate positive habits to curb grime in Ghana.
Akosua Agyapong says she is saddened by Ghana’s position as the seventh filthiest country in the world and hopes undertaking this project will enhance the state of the country’s sanitation.
She revealed, “many countries respect Ghana for so many reasons so the fact that we are the seventh filthiest country makes me sad. I hope with my little input, things will change.”
