In a few hours, AGOO FM [103.5MHz] will forever be extinguished as it gives way to POWER FM to operate on the same frequency modulation.
Sources close to Afrovibez have revealed that from Monday, February 3, 2014 POWER will take off in full flight with one of Ghana’s finest sports presenter and commentator, Christopher Opoku, formerly of Metro TV and one of the pioneer presenters of Asempa FM’s sports morning show, sitting in the hot seat to present the first ever sports morning show in English dubbed “Power Sports” between 6 and 10am every weekday.
Our sneak peek into their programming showed a concentration on sports with personalities like Dennis Mirpuri, who quit Live FM a few weeks ago after moving there from Pravda Radio and Joy FM before then, joining the unit to host “Power Sports Update” between 1 and 2pm each weekday.
Michael Katahena, formerly of Metro Sports will present Sports between 4 to 6pm with the likes of Henry Asante Twum who used to be with GTV and Radio XYZ soon to join.
It is however being rumoured that Joy FM broadcast journalist, Sammy Darko is much likely to steer the News Affairs of “THE INNOVATORS”. With D.J Mono who joined Agoo still hanging in there pulling the musical strings, it seems the staff of Agoo FM has not been completely wiped out.
