There’s no doubt that Ghanaian artistes love their Nigerian counterparts and will go all lengths to get them to feature in their songs and one artiste who has expressed his love for the Ghana-Nigeria collaborations is Sarkodie.
On his third double disc album, Sarkologoy, the rapper featured as many as seven different artistes from Nigeria – Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Timaya, Vector, Banky W, 2Face and Davido.
Over the weekend, the BET Award winner updated his twitter page, alerting his fans on an upcoming collaboration with another Nigerian BET Award laureate, Ice Prince. He penned; “You guys ain’t ready 4 this I swear … Sark & Ice.”
He also uploaded a photo of the two in what seemed like a photo shoot of a video or cover for their upcoming joint but kept mum on details of the said project.
With the help of the many Nigerians on the album, ‘Sarkology’ attained rave reviews and critical acclaim and the rapper is highly tipped to shrug off competition from M,anifest’s ‘Apae’ album to annex the ‘Best Album’ category at the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The Chocolate Factory recording artiste, Ice Prince, is also not new to the Ghana-Naija collaborations. In February 2013, he assisted D-Black on the track, “Still Same” off the Ghanaian’s ‘Revelation’ album and on February 2014, he also joined forces with E.L. to release the single ‘Crazy Love’, which is supposed to appear on E.L’s upcoming sophomore album.
